Renovations Have Begun at the New Zi Zai Clinic!
We are so dang excited to announce that renovations have begun at our new clinic! I had been searching for the last 5 years for just the right location for us. I found it late last winter…and it took until August to inspect it properly and negotiate the lease. But demolition took place last week and now we build it up from there.
We have about 4 to 6 weeks of renovations to complete before the new clinic will be operational. The new space is 3 times the size of our current clinic. There will be room for us to treat patients, craft our herbal skin care products, and have a retail shop up front! We will offer special learning events and fun workshops. I can’t wait for Mask Night where small groups will be invited for an evening of pampering – custom herbal facial masks and wine tasting! I am also thrilled to announce that we will be installing special machines to prepare patient herbal prescriptions (like they have in the top TCM hospitals in China)!! We will be the only Chinese Medicine clinic in the Rocky Mountain region to offer such herb prescription services. I will write a whole new post on these machines as we get closer to their arrival so you can learn all about them.
The new place is located on the west side of Fort Collins, at the shopping center on the northwest corner of Drake & Taft Hill Road (anchored by Safeway and Walgreens). We are on the west side of the shopping center, near the brand new brew pub, Intersect Brewing! We are excited to have such great neighbors and we hope you support them as well (they have a fabulous patio out back). Parking at the new clinic will be much more convenient than in our current location in Old Town. A larger space, easier driving access, better parking, a brew pub next door…what more could we ask for? You are going to love the new Zi Zai Dermatology clinic & shop.
Here are some “before” photos…seeing these will make you even more impressed when you see what we turn it into!

Rooms to the left and the right! We will open up the ones on the right corridor to make room for the herbal pharmacy and product crafting area.

Chopped that silly wall down to make reception counter. Cut into the walls to open up the herbal pharmacy area.

Fairy lights and lanterns…I was aiming for “Enchanted Old World Apothecary” vibe. Like a grown-up version of Harry Potter. Did I nail it?
There is much work to be done in this new space and I am off to meet with the contractors now! I will post again when there is more to show you and I will certainly announce our grand opening. Until then, pop into the neighboring brew pub for a pint on their back patio and sneak a peek into our windows as you pass by!
