While most of the Chinese herbs used in our formulations are easily obtainable, there are times when some herbs become scarce. This can be due to many reasons: increased global demand and use, climatic events such as floods and droughts that reduce the crop, or the increased use of pesticides. Zi Zai Dermatology only uses Chinese herbs that are lab tested for proper species identification as well as for contaminants such as heavy metals, microorganisms and pesticides. Recently, the companies we order our quality herbs from have rejected their shipments of some herbs due to high pesticide residue. We are grateful for their good quality control, but now we are out of stock of a couple of very vital ingredients. Depending on the continued challenges of obtaining certain herbs, we may choose to replace a few ingredients in our products. We promise the efficacy of the final product will not be affected and we hope our loyal customers understand.
